Windows showing "Unknown publisher"? That's normal — read this

When you download the installer, Windows may show a blue screen saying "Windows protected your PC" with an "unknown" publisher. This is normal and safe. It simply means we don't yet have a commercial digital signature — we'll add one once we reach 30 active businesses.

To install it anyway:

  1. Click "More info" (below the title).
  2. Click the "Run anyway" button that appears below.
  3. Accept the UAC prompt ("Do you want to allow this app...?") with Yes.

How it works

From physical printer to brand ambassador

STEP 1

Download the installer and double-click

A 16 MB .msi file. Next, next, finish. Windows recognizes "WhatsBoost Printer" in your device list. No technical knowledge needed and no extra drivers to install — it uses the Microsoft PS Class Driver, signed by Microsoft.

STEP 2

Link the device to your WhatsBoost account

When you open the app, a wizard with big, clear steps (in Spanish, English, or Catalan) asks you to paste your Access Key from the WhatsBoost dashboard. Choose your business, name the device ("Till 1"), and you're done.

Print as usual — your customer receives it

Your POS sends the receipt to "WhatsBoost Printer" instead of the thermal printer. A pop-up asks for the customer's phone number (with +34 already pre-selected). They give their number, get the receipt on WhatsApp, and — if they're new — an invitation to leave a review.

Everything you wanted to know

Do I need to change my POS software?
No. WhatsBoost Printer shows up in Windows as just another printer. Your software (Glop, Hostpos, ICG, Tpv-Bar, etc.) keeps printing exactly as before — you just change the selected printer. The paper receipt still prints if you have that option enabled.
Does it work with a thermal printer?
Yes. In the settings, you choose which physical printer to use for paper when a customer doesn't want the receipt on WhatsApp. Compatible with EPSON TM-T20III, Star TSP143, BMK, and any thermal printer recognized by Windows.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Receipts queue up locally, encrypted with DPAPI, and send automatically once the connection returns. Your customer might get their WhatsApp a few minutes late, but no receipt is ever lost.
How much does it cost?
The installer is free. You pay for the WhatsApp messages sent according to your WhatsBoost plan. No contracts, no lock-in, no cost per extra device or business.
Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes. The customer provides their number voluntarily, data travels encrypted over HTTPS, and the entire flow is audited. The review invitation is sent only on the first visit — never spam.
Can I use it across multiple businesses?
A single WhatsBoost account supports multiple businesses, and each business can link multiple PCs. Every PC is identified separately in the dashboard so you know exactly how many receipts each till sends.
How many languages is it available in?
Spanish, English, and Catalan for now. You choose your language on first launch and can change it anytime from the system tray menu.
